Perficient currently has a career opportunity for an Oracle Lead Business Consultant - Profitability and Cost Management (PCMCS) in in our Oracle EPM National Business Unit.


Job Overview:

The role of the Lead Business Consultant is for individuals passionate about identifying and delivering the right EPM solution for each client. Our Lead Consultants have a keen Business orientation with an understanding of how technology can be effectively applied to meet a variety of Business needs.


Our Lead Consultants fill a number of different roles on our project teams working with a variety of technologies for a wide range of clients. The specific responsibilities vary for each client and each project. Key to the success of our Lead Consultants is the willingness and desire to quickly learn the client’s industry and the unique requirements of each engagement and to fill whatever role may be required to best support our client’s needs.


A Lead Consultant thrives in challenging environments and accomplishes difficult assignments without significant supervision and instruction. Our Consultants can handle the stress of being accountable for delivery and: complete goals on time, practice strong attention to detail, persevere through tough obstacles, and do not get easily discouraged.


The Lead Consultant is a key delivery point of contact and will be involved in the strategic planning of an engagement or helping the client make decisions about their future IT direction. Once a project has begun, the Lead Consultant will facilitate key requirements with stakeholders and customers using standard and User Experience techniques. The Lead Consultant may be responsible for functional designs, detailed designs and system mapping, wireframes, requirement specifications, and prototypes.


The PCMCS Lead Consultant will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of Oracle EPM financial systems for our clients.  Lead Consultants should also be comfortable delivering timely financial information and analysis for both internal and external reporting.  Consultants must possess deep knowledge of GAAP, Financial Accounting Standard Board Statements (FASB), and other regulatory agency guidelines.



  • Extensive implementation experience in the Oracle EPM suite of products, specifically HPCM or PCMCS and Essbase. 
  • Leads the analysis of designs, developing, testing and implementing of PCMCS applications as part of implementation team in support of Business Unit initiatives and change requests.
  • Develop complex allocation and mapping logic in PCMCS.
  • Validates the results of the testing cycle of system design changes prior to migrating to Production applications.
  • Leads the application migration strategy for moving changes between environments.
  • May review client’s current system architecture and usage with a focus on maximizing the benefit from the software.
  • Serves as the application subject matter export and thought leader through an implementation
  • Provides knowledge transfer to client’s team


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or IT preferred
  • Minimum of 4 -6 years of experience in the implementation of HPCM or PCMCS including Essbase
  • Preference for at least 2 large scale PCMCS implementations
  • PCMCS, Hyperion HPCM, Essbase or other relevant Certifications are preferred
  • Experience implementing allocation solutions utilizing Activity Based Cost Management and/or Other Driver Based Methodologies
  • Experience in a project team environment using structured methodologies for gathering business requirements, business processes, data ETL and system integrations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in dynamic, fast-paced environment
