Perficient currently has a career opportunity for an Appian Lead Developer. This is a Technical Architect position that can be remote and located anywhere in the U.S., with up to 75% travel to client sites expected.

 

Job Overview:

 

As an Appian Architect, you will be responsible for guiding our client's with all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including scoping, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and support of applications. As a member working in a team environment, you will be responsible for facilitating technical option conversations by engaging SME's and then guiding the delivery team with design solutions for our customers. This includes helping the delivery teams understand the overall solution architecture, building a backlog of user stories, breaking down work efforts in the Appian platform component to be developed, and helping resolve possible barriers to client success. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases, including estimate, development, test, deployment, and production roll-out.
  • Evaluate user requirements for digital process automation to determine feasibility and technical requirements.
  • Work with team members to identify, mitigate and resolve project issues and risks.
  • Support engagement leaders to ensure a high-quality delivery and Appian best practices on customer engagements.
  • Support data migration efforts to transform and load data between data stores.
  • Serve as a technical lead and mentor. Provide technical support or leadership in the development and continual improvement of service.
  • Participate in team design meetings, daily scrum meetings, and other development meetings
  • Assist in application deployment and roll-out to production.

  • Soft skills for interaction with customers for requirement gathering and implementation
  • Assisting pre-sales teams, including writing statements of work, the development of PoCs.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels.
  • Ability to travel to client sites where needed (up to 75% travel).

Qualifications

  • Certifications - At least Appian Certified Senior Developer or equivalent.
  • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and technical team members to deliver high-quality projects. 
  • Hands-on with process discovery, project documentation. Well-versed in industry best practices and current technologies.
  • Client-facing or consulting experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Global Delivery Model is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with proposal creation and leading proposal presentations.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Wide variety of IT and business consulting engagement experience.
  • Phenomenal communicators who can explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, including high-level decision-makers.
  • Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in authoring, editing, and presenting technical documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Flexibility to travel.
