Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Business Analyst in our Milwaukee, WI, Digital Commerce office.  Our Business Analysts are responsible for gathering business cases and requirements, and documenting them in a format to be utilized and understood by business teams as well as technical teams.  This person will facilitate PIM data model workshops and meetings with stakeholders such as Product Managers, Channel Managers, Print Catalog Designers, Technical Leads... and develop technical solutions to business problems.


The Business Analyst may be involved in the strategic planning of an engagement or helping a client make decisions about their future IT direction. Once a project has begun, the Business Analyst may assist in facilitating key requirements with stakeholders and customers using standard and User Experience techniques. The Business Analyst may be responsible for functional designs, detailed designs and system mapping, wireframes, requirement specifications, and prototypes.


The Business Analyst works with the Project Managers to assist with daily operations exercising time management, communication and collaboration in a fast-paced environment to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The Business Consultant will interface with Perficient technical and business delivery personnel, as well as vendors and customers on a regular basis.



  • Understand business case and plan the client engagement format.
  • Drive data model workshops with key business and technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning the agenda and structuring workshop formats.
  • Work closely with Program Manager, Architects, and Technical Leads.
  • Develop trusted relationships with client business and technical teams and help in setting expectations for each role involved.
  • Elicit requirements and organize requirements into phases or prioritization.
  • Translate client’s business needs into detailed business requirements documents, use cases and systems interaction diagrams..
  • Analyze and document requirements.
  • Drive change within the organization, new process adoption, user onboarding.
  • Educate channel managers, marketing teams, designers and other stakeholders on the future state of the process and implementation.
  • Obtain approval from stakeholders.
  • Coordinate business and technical user training sessions.
  • Establishes knowledge of client business challenges and priorities to translate into opportunities.
  • Maintains regular client communication and satisfaction, ensuring opportunities and challenges are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to project discoveries, kickoff, prepare proposals and statements of work following company standards.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of professional business analysis experience with strong relationship management, account management, and support experience.
  • Experience working with external clients.
  • Experience with Product Information Management, MDM, and/or Ecommerce systems highly preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Analyst and/or Technical Project Management.
  • Experience working with various business domains and verticals.
  • Understanding of solutions development mythology, architecture, implementation approach.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Knowledge of Agile and iterative development methodologies.
  • Understanding of current technologies and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to translate high level business needs/use cases into detailed technical requirements.
  • Highly detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible to new situations and challenges.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25 percent.

Preferred skills and education:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience working in the consulting industry
  • Understanding of complex Internet based enterprise level applications
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Track record of delivering on time, on budget, and meeting client commitments
