    Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Networking and Secruity Engineer in our corporate office located in St. Louis, MO.


    The Networking and Security Engineer will be responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and integration of company networks and security related hardware and software. The individual will help design, implement, and enforce network security policies and drive compliance for applicable external security audit requirements.

    In addition to working closely with IT team members, this role has hands-on daily interaction with key management across the business unit including General Managers, Directors, Project Managers, and Business Development Executives.




    • Analyzes problems, recommends solutions, products, and technologies to meet business objectives
    • Actively protects company IT assets, infrastructure, and data from external or internal threats
    • Organizes and conducts vendor demonstrations or prototypes to vet solution applicability
    • Performs analysis of network security needs and contributes to the design, integration, and installation of security hardware and software
    • Analyzes, troubleshoots and remediates network problems
    • Maintains and administers firewalls and intrusion detection systems
    • Recommends security best practices to achieve stated business or compliance related objectives and advise on risk profile for variances from standards or requirements
    • Manages the incident response for any breach, intrusion or data theft
    • Monitors systems for any anomalies, proper maintenance and patch compliance
    • Maintains system documentation and configuration for regulatory and audit purposes
    • Coaches and guides service desk in security incident response and escalation
    • Conducts periodic internal security testing and recommends corrective actions based on findings
    • Escalates tier support of network and security-related systems
    • Improves the overall security position and protocols for organizational systems
    • Prepares periodic status reports other management reports as requested
    • Takes ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution
    • Develops and maintains service procedures, policies and standards



    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited university required 
    • Network Security Certifications preferred
    • PMP certification preferred
    • 6+ years of experience working with technical network administration and support
    • Demonstrated ability to grasp security concepts and demonstrated knowledge of security management practices, security architecture, and security operations.
    • Proven ability to apply critical thinking with natural curiosity to distill detailed functional or regulatory requirements into technical solutions
    • 3 or more years’ experience with network security protocols, hardware and software
    • Previous experience with Cisco router and switch configuration
    • Previous experience with one or more of the following firewalls: Checkpoint, CISCO, Juniper or McAfee
    • Proven ability to manage projects in a self-directed manner
    • Strong knowledge of ITIL preferred
