    Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Data Scientist at our Pleasanton, CA location. 


    Job Overview:


    As a Data Scientist you will develop and implement the state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to a wide range of NLP tasks: morphological analysis, entity extraction and linking, relationship extraction, text categorization, sentiment analysis and more. You should be comfortable working in an agile environment with cross-functional teams and with an ability to adapt to fast-paced rhythm.



    • Strong understanding of Machine Learning, NLP tools (Word2Vec, Glove, T-SNE), Big data, Data Analysis and Statistical Model development.


    • Over 2 years of experience working as a Data Scientist and has worked extensively on Data Analysis and Machine Learning tools.


    • Has implemented variety of NLP tools like Word2Vec and has also worked with Python, Hadoop and Hive.


    • Has good understanding of statistical models like LDA to study similarity patterns of Data.


    • Proficient with Python programming and frameworks like DJANGO/FLASK.

    • Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases including estimate, develop, test, manage projects, architect and deliver.
    • Serve as a technical lead and mentor.  Provide technical support or leadership in the development and continual improvement of service.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
    • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level.
    • Promptly design, prototype, and implement architectures to tackle the Data Science needs for a variety of Fortune 500 organizations.

    • Required to implement machine learning approaches such as NLP using (Word2Vec, Glove, T-SNE, etc.) methods, good understanding of generative statistical models such as LDA and Topic.

    • Utilize leading Big Data tools, such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, etc.

    • Translate findings into technical approaches that yield actionable solutions across multiple diverse domains; communicate results, educate others through design, create insightful graphs, reports, and presentations.




    • Required Qualifications:

      • MS, or Ph.D. in Applied Math, Statistics, Data Science/AI, Engineering, or Computer Science
      • 2+ years of experience in data analysis and machine learning implementation.
      • Proficiency in Python programming language with experience in Django or Flask framework
      • Ability to work with team members and clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems, using excellent problem-solving skills, verbal/written communication, and the ability to present and explain technical concepts to business audiences
      • Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
      • Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
      • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.


      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
      • Superb knowledge of Gluon/TensorFlow, working experience with following NLP methods (Word2Vec, Glove, T-SNE, cTakes, OpenNLP, UIMA, GATE, Stanford CoreNLP), and good understanding of statistical models such as LDA and Topic.
      • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries
      • Creative and innovative thinker
      • Keep up-to-date on academic literature in the NLP/ML field.
