Perficient Digital is an agency purpose-built to help companies who believe that Customer Experience (CX) is the defining strategic imperative of our day.

Our full-service offering is flexible and designed to tackle our customers’ ever-changing, ever-increasing business challenges, making sure our execution never fails the strategic vision. These things are not mutually exclusive; we see them as one. Guiding choices, inspiring opportunities and fueling the customer experience takes clarity. But an increasingly noisy, complex business environment often clouds the vision of marketers today. The Age of the Customer is here to stay – for many, a “make or break” business environment where every customer interaction shapes your brand, day in, day out.  Make or break . . . Proud to say we’re skilled at the former.

Our network of offices across North America, as well as locations in India and China, will give you the opportunity to spread your wings, too.

Perficient is proud to be publicly recognized as a “Top Workplace” year after year. This is due, in no small part, to our entrepreneurial attitude and collaborative spirit that sets us apart and keeps our colleagues impassioned, driven, and fulfilled.

Perficient Digital currently has a career opportunity for an UX Architect in our Ann Arbor office located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

    Job Overview:

The UX Architect is responsible for the structural organization of information across various system platforms including desktop, web and mobile apps, and other digital systems and interfaces. The UX Architect meets with clients to understand their needs, researches users and competitors, helps scope and plan features, outline the overall site flow and the hierarchy of each template, conducts user testing and synthesize the results, and annotates the interactions and functional requirements. As a UX Architect at Perficient, you will work closely with clients, digital strategists, content strategists, front-end and back-end developers, visual designers, project managers, and account managers to develop solutions that meet stakeholder objectives and serve the needs of the user. As a User Experience Architect, your most fundamental job is to understand and empathize with the user and advocate for them at every turn.

    What you’ll do

    • Understand target audiences' needs, tasks, and goals.
    • Develop sitemaps and collaborate on applied taxonomies and content strategy.
    • Create user flows, personas, journeymaps, wireframes, prototypes, functional annotations and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience.
    • Conduct user research, such as remote and in-person usability testing, card sorting, surveys, heuristics evaluations, and contextual inquiries.
    • Occasionally, you will participate in sales activities by quickly understanding a potential client’s needs and outlining a vision that is appropriate for the budget, ask, and core user needs.

    What experience you need

    • 1+ years as an Information Architect or Experience Designer.
    • Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Library Science, UX Design, or related field.
    • Proficiency with prototyping tools such as Axure, Sketch, and/or Adobe XD.
    • Experience with testing tools such as UserTesting.com, OptimalSort and Treejack.
    • Ability to design across devices - from desktop to mobile – and across systems – from browser-based websites and apps to native apps for mobile.

What other qualities will help you succeed

    • An understanding of various software platforms such as Magento, Sharepoint, and AEM.
    • Demonstrable passion for researching and designing great information architectures.
    • Ability to communicate well with stakeholders, teammates, and users.
    • Detail-oriented, efficient, flexible, and calm in the face of ambiguity.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive deadlines.
    • A high-level understanding of current relevant technologies and ability to quickly comprehend the fundamentals of new technologies and how those might influence requirements, design approach, and product innovation.
    • Comfortable working as part of a design and development team, not just working from a technology perspective. Agency experience is particularly valuable.
    • Deep empathy with users, understanding that people will expect a humane, usable, and successful user experience as well as required functionality and features.
    • Flexible and adaptable in approach as well as to fit project budget and timelines.
    • Strategic, creative thinker able to translate findings into clear guidance for designers and developers and define clear project measures.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive deadlines.
    • Be energetic, motivated, team oriented, and a fast learner.

Perficient full-time employees receive complete and competitive benefits.
